Morning Smoothie – With Crunch!
| August 21, 2019
There are so many of us who make smoothies for breakfast. I also make them for dinner, and for a quick sweet snack. Recently a friend of mine was on a weight loss mission and part of her instructed regime was to have a smoothie with granola in it! She stayed at my place for awhile and made me these smoothies every morning. I quickly became addicted. I like my smoothies to resemble ice cream as I’m kind of piggy. So I put a lot of ice in mine. If you want in more liquidy aka smoothie like, add more almond milk. Here’s one of my favorite recipes.
Ingredients –
- 1 cup ice
- 1/3 cup almond milk
- 3/4 cup of berries and bananas
- 1 date (pitted)
- 1/3 cup protein powder – You can leave this out if you want. I usually do.
- 1/4 tsp of maca root powder
- 1tsp of flax seeds
- 1/8 cup of Urban Hippie Granola
- 1/2 tsp of raw cocoa nibs
Blend first 7 ingredients in a high power blender. Top with granola and raw cocoa nibs. You’ll satisfy any ice cream craving.
Alternatively, blend all 9 ingredients in a high speed blender. Pour into glass.
